Global – The preview of the costumes, which feature in an adaptation of the opera Antigona, was created in collaboration with Werkflow.

The preview depicts the garments in an interactive digital space to re-contextualise the opera’s narrative and showcase the designs virtually.

Split into four parts that examine four of the opera’s main characters, the artwork enables users to interact with and view the garments in a variety of ways.

‘We often discuss the use of the game space as a theatrical space,’ says Tom Wandrag, co-founder of Werkflow. ‘The concept of reframing Antigona against a futurist backdrop seemed like the perfect opportunity to work towards taking Pugh and creative director Goshka Macuga’s ideas beyond what is possible on stage.’

Antigona debuted at the Staatstheater Kassel in Germany on 10 June to coincide with the opening of the fourteenth edition of the Documenta art fair.
