Porto – A new hotel in this northern Portuguese city offers travellers a home away from home. With a shared garden and lounge, and seven individually designed rooms, the intimate Hotel Favorita retains the spirit of a family’s house. The venture is a collaboration between hotelier Ema Xavier, designer Sam Baron and architect Nuno Sottomayor.
For travellers seeking an authentic experience, Favorita is steeped in a sense of place. Local gallery Dama Aflita curates a revolving selection of art, and the in-house restaurant serves fresh market foods and wines from the Douro region. Tucked between the many art and design galleries on rua Miguel Bombarda, the hotel also takes part in the city’s cultural life with monthly opening night events.
From its Rough Luxe attic rooms to its cosy sitting area complete with record player, Hotel Favorita invites guests to find, and settle into, their favourite place.
