Miami – Car manufacturer Audi has created an electric car filling station concept at Design Miami/ 2010 for its Audi e-tron Spyder car.
But rather than being just a place for drivers to stop and charge their car, Munich-based graphic design firm Mirko Boshe has designed an enticing space for them to spend time in while waiting.
From the outside the space looks like a car showroom, but inside visitors find a welcoming café and lounge. A menu of organic foods and drinks are served in what looks like a living room. Visitors are invited to sit down on a stylish leather sofa while reading a book chosen from the bookshelves. There are pictures on the wall and a lamp hangs from the ceiling. A bar also offers space for people to plug in their laptops.
