Singapore – Berlin-based design firm Art + Com has created a kinetic art installation in the Terminal 1 departures hall at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
The Kinetic Rain installation consists of more than 1,000 bronze droplets suspended from the ceiling by fine wires. Each wire is controlled by a motor that seamlessly moves the droplets to form new shapes.
Each droplet symbolises the thousands of travellers who pass through the airport every day and the members of staff that form Changi Airport’s working community.
This is a great way for Changi Airport to entertain travellers and add excitement or passengers checking in for a flight. To find out more about the latest trends in the travel industry, buy a copy of LS:N Global’s Travel and Hospitality Futures report, available from The Future Laboratory shop.
