Taipei – The sound of rainfall is now available whatever the weather, with a phonograph record of rain sounds produced by Japanese design collective Kyouei Design for Taiwan Designers’ Week 2009.
Grooves in the ‘Endless Rain Record’, designed by Kouichi Okamoto, form circles so that the record plays rain sounds on a loop. Part of the ‘Rain’ exhibition, the ‘Endless Rain Record’ is the latest example of the sort of sensory design we noted in the New Designers and RCA graduate shows in London earlier this summer.
