Eindhoven – A new installation at Dutch Design Week allows visitors to create a private space anywhere they please. Yoeri Treffers’s ‘Inflatable Void’ – a blow-up space made of Tyvek – inflates within 20 seconds with the help of wind from a ceiling fan, and can fill any available space while enveloping surrounding objects.
The installation is part of the Design Academy Eindhoven Graduation Galleries, one of the best places to spot new talent at this year’s edition of the annual design week. With a nomination for World Design Capital 2012 in mind, Eindhoven is buzzing with temporary exhibitions showcasing emerging creative talent. Watch out for our forthcoming review of the week’s highlights.
Dutch Design Week takes place in Eindhoven from 17 to 25 October.
