Eindhoven, Netherlands – Designers Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk presented their most recent exhibition, Moods, at Dutch Design Week last month.
Separate spaces conveyed different moods, reflected in the collections on display. The Glass Stacks project, for example, in cooperation with Venice Projects, showed a series of limited-edition Murano glass objects that represent seven of life’s most basic needs.
An hourglass balanced on a stack of pillows, for instance, reminds us of the need to slow down and ‘Rest!’, as the name suggests. And an ancient drinking vessel, the amphora, symbolises our need for hydration and demands that we ‘Drink!’ in order to stay alive.
From retail to music, exploring different moods helps to improve the consumer experience.
