Portland – Oregon Manifest has revealed the criteria for its 2011 Constructor’s Design Challenge, which will take place in Portland on the 23–24 September.
In the Creative Collaborations competition, three design teams – Ziba Design, Fuseproject and IDEO – will pair up with custom bike builders and selected design students to work on the design of a crafted bicycle for everyday use. The idea is to rethink bicycle design for a new generation.
‘We’re looking for the ultimate modern utility bike, one designed as an integrated tool for living that is yet to be found on the shop floor,’ says Shannon Holt, board member at Oregon Manifest.
